SOE Minister Dahlan Iskan confirmed information circulating that PT Garuda Indonesia to buy 11 A330-300 aircraft worth 2.5 billion dollars to the company's Airbus aircraft. Purchase of 11 units of this aircraft will arrive in the country between 2013 and 2017. "Yes. The signing of the purchase of aircraft is planned to be conducted to coincide with the visit of British Prime Minister David Cameron to Indonesia on Wednesday. In the two-day visit, PM Cameron was accompanied by 30 businessmen in Britain, including the defense industry.
In the interview with the daily Kompas, PM Cameron said, the goal been to Indonesia is to deliver a step change in the field of trade and investment between the UK and Indonesia as well as related political partnership of regional and global issues.
PM Cameron also confirmed that Airbus officials are members of the delegation who participated in the visit to Indonesia. "The UK has a world-class companies that can be a good partner for Indonesia. Many of them became part of my delegation today. We have a world-class manufacturing industry, such as Airbus, which designs and makes aircraft wings flying in the UK," he said.
