60% Growth in Demand Mastered the World Dairy Indonesia, China, and India

Jakarta - Indonesia is one country that accounts for the growth of world demand for milk. Together China and India, demand for milk three countries will reach 60% of the world.

President Director of PT. Fonterra Brands Indonesia Handoyo Yon said it is committed to providing high-quality dairy nutrition to people throughout the ASEAN region, including Indonesia.

"Global dairy demand will increase by 100 billion liters in 8 years and 60% growth in demand comes from China, India, and Indonesia. Our investment in local packing and processing capabilities will help ensure the milk's nutritional needs that are growing rapidly in this region , "he said in a statement on Monday (4/16/2012)

He said Fonterra is currently looking for partners to establish and run the processing and packaging factories in Indonesia that is still in the planning stages.

"We are currently in the stage of discussions with several potential partners and is looking for an alternative structure of cooperation as well as location. We expect the new plant had to operate within 18 months, which will adopt the best practices of Fonterra and comply with the Standards of Quality and Quality of Fonterra," he said .

Fonterra CEO Theo Spierings added that Fonterra investment plan in Indonesia is part of the company's global strategy to further sharpen the focus in the ASEAN region.

Fonterra today announced an investment plan processing and packaging plant in Indonesia. This investment will support the local expansion of consumer products Fonterra, the Anlene, Anmum, and Anchor Boneeto throughout Indonesia.

Spierings said that Asia surpassed the growth in world demand for dairy products and Indonesia played a major role in this request.

"New Zealand dairy industry has formed a partnership with Indonesia for over 40 years of supplying high quality dairy products and dairy product demand Indonesia is predicted to grow by about 50% within the next eight years. With the rapid growth prediction in Indonesia, we would like to improve processing and packaging we are here to support the long-term growth of our business, "he said.

Fonterra has been processing and packaging of consumer products-Anlene, Anmum, and Anchor-Boneeto in New Zealand or through packaging company in Indonesia or Asia, before distributing it to the Indonesian market.

"These products are Fonterra will continue to use raw materials from New Zealand, while the new plant will support the production of secondary processes and help respond quickly to market needs," he explained.
