Garuda Indonesia eyeing the domestic market to small towns in Indonesia which has been the pioneer aviation market. Domestic market to a small town in eastern Indonesia and Sumatra were judged potentially economically even though many passengers are not big (high yield low density).
"Therefore, we will operate a small aircraft in the area," said Director of PT Garuda Indonesia Satar told a news conference related to the 50 years that berlangasung flight to Japan on Friday (13/04/2012) evening was in Tokyo, Japan.
Reuters journalists report from Tokyo M Suprihadi, currently Garuda had ordered 18 Bombardier CRJ-1000 aircraft with a capacity of approximately 100 passengers.
Vice President Corporate Communications of PT Garuda Indonesia Pujobroto added that Garuda would even add new Bombardier orders a total of 18 units. "So, the total will reach 36 new aircraft," said Pujobroto after the press conference was also attended by Vice President Region, Japan, Korea, China, and AS Faik Fahmi and Vice President Marketing and Sales M Arif Wibowo it.
He said the small aircraft will be stationed in Makassar and Balikpapan to serve Indonesiaa flight to the east and Medan in Sumatra flies.

Apart from a small plane, Garuda also plans to add a large aircraft A330-300 after previously ordered 10 Boeing 777-300 ER. The amount is 11 units.
